On the evening of August 17, Khanh Hoa Province celebrated the official opening of Nha Trang Xua Traditional Village, located in Thai Thong Hamlet, Nam Nha Trang Ward. This 3-hectare cultural attraction is dedicated to preserving and showcasing Vietnam’s rich heritage through traditional crafts, cuisine, and performances.
The launch ceremony was attended by several provincial leaders and representatives from local cultural and tourism departments, including officials from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, media agencies, the Nha Trang–Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, and the Khanh Hoa Culinary Culture Association.
Nha Trang Xua Traditional Village offers visitors an immersive experience into Vietnamese traditional life. Guests can witness artisans practicing age-old crafts such as pottery making, mat weaving, calligraphy, lacquer painting, incense production, and the art of creating to he—miniature rice dough figurines popular in Vietnamese folk culture. Authentic regional dishes are also available, giving tourists a taste of local culinary traditions in a cultural village setting that blends entertainment with heritage preservation.
Adding to the cultural richness of the village is the debut of a new outdoor performance called “Legendary Light.” This nightly spectacle, held six evenings a week, brings to life the history and mythology of Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa through music, lights, and storytelling. The performance highlights key cultural symbols and narratives tied to the region’s identity. Visitors to the village can enjoy the show free of charge, making it an attractive evening activity for families and tourists alike.
The creation of the Nha Trang Xua Traditional Village and the launch of Legendary Light reflect Khanh Hoa’s broader effort to diversify its tourism offerings and promote cultural tourism alongside its well-known beach destinations. By providing interactive and educational experiences, the site aims to attract both domestic and international travelers seeking deeper cultural engagement.
